Group Show 2015

14th Broadstairs Scout Group took to the stage to show off their talents and raise much needed funds for the group. The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were asked to come up with an act and audition BGT style. They were then asked to return two weeks later with small tweaks or improvements and after Boot Camp week.   We had a show.   Each Section provided individual acts and each section performed their own set pieces.       The show had everything from stand up comedy to acting, singing and different genres of dance including street, tap, line dancing and disco.     After much editing and re editing the music was finally ready.       Lyrics cleaned up and technical stage set up and after 3 weeks rehearsal the show was finally ready.       The Cubs sang Glee style, whilst the Scouts did a retro S Club number but the Beavers had the audience rocking in the aisles with their version of Happy and the Choocha Wow Wow song. The highlight was the Young Leaders and their version of YMCA.       Finally it was the big show number. “Frozen”.   Gadget was sick of hearing Let it Go by now but with singers from all sections who performed a medley of songs it was great. The big surprise however was the snow machines we had borrowed and what a sight. The audience and performers were truly awed by the effect.     The vibe from the audience was buzzing and it was the Finale.     With all members of the group young, old and inbetween, Katy Perry has never sounded so good and with a final encore of Let it Go and snow machines at full pelt the evening ended with a huge buzz

Did we achieve what we set out to do. You bet.   All members have achieved entertainers badges or creative awards, their self- esteem is so high and best of all we raised sufficient funds to subsidise our Big Night Out.

Our thanks go to the wonderful technical team at Dane Court School and to their teachers for the use of their brilliant facilities and to our local guides who came along and supported us by taking on some of the front of house jobs.

We had a blast and can’t wait another 3 years until the next one.
