Cubs

May join from their Eighth Birthday until they are Ten and a Half where they will transfer to Scouts.

The aim of the Pack is to provide all round training of spirit, mind and body.

This encourages self-control, obedience, alertness and self-confidence, sense of right and wrong, a natural curiosity, imagination and to respond to discipline and structure.

The Cubs will be asked to make the following Promise and Law:

Cub Scouts always do their best, think of others

before themselves and do a good turn everyday

Each Cub takes part in the Balanced Programme which consists of Seven challenges:

Our Outdoor Challenge

Our Adventure Challenge

Our Skills Challenge

Our World Challenge

Personal Challenge

Team Leader Challenge

Teamwork Challenge

In addition to this the Cubs can achieve 37 Activity Badges from Air Activities, Chef, Road Safety and Water Activities.

They may also participate in Group Awards and the 14 Staged Awards including Nights Away, Hikes Away, Music, Swimming and IT.

The Highest Award a Cub can achieve will be the Chief Scouts Silver Award and this can be earned during the last six months and is gained by completing the Challenges.
