Scouts, are you ready?  Leaders, are you ready?

This week the Scouts held their annual Robot Wars night. For those that have never seen it you have to build a robot from paper, cardboard, paper mache or balsa wood. You can add weapons like nails and screws and it must not be any wider/longer than a sheet of A4. The house robots (Leaders Robots) are placed in the middle of a circle and the Scouts roll theirs in as hard and as fast as they can aiming to smash the house robots. The Scouts get two attempts they then leave their robots in and the house robots get one go at smashing them. You are out when you can no longer wheel your robot in or you need a dustpan and brush to pick it up! This carries on and the last robot standing wins. If more than one is left in at the end the leaders decide who deserve the title of Robot Wars Champion for that year.

This years quality of robot was one of the best ever. Thank you to all the Scouts that had a go it was a great night. At the end of the night we were left with 5 Robots standing that still had all their wheels which left the Leaders with a very hard choice. Well done to Randal who was declared the Robot Wars Champion for 2012.

As we have said this years quality of robot was brilliant, as you read this the 2013 house robots are being built.

Scouts, prepare to meet THE UNDERTAKER, JAWS and the SCOUTINATOR …………………..WE’LL BE BACK!
