Thanet Roadrunners 10 Mile

One of the Scouts annual duties is manning a water station at the Thanet Marathon. This year we added the Thanet Roadrunners Alan Green Memorial 10 mile race, handing out bottles of water and energy gel to the runners.

A lovely little job at the end of the summer holidays. This year, we ended up with the survival version. Winter. Strong winds, sub zero temperatures, risking hypothermia, to make sure that 500 runners stay hydrated.

A hectic day, made even more so when we were getting runners coming in from both directions at the same time.
