Beavers – District New Year Party

As masses of Beavers from different groups arrived, they were led into the hall, which was filled with party music and lights. All of the beavers started to show off their best dance moves, prizes were awarded for the best dance moves, and our colony had a few beavers, along with a scout, who won medals for their dance skills. Next up were the games. The main game was pass the parcel followed by a bit of musical statues, which all the kids were brilliant at even though there was a bit of wobbling going on.

All the kids had worked up an appetite, not to mention thirst, so were led out to eat their packed lunch. After all the kids had eaten, they were led back into the hall for a bit of magic. All of the Beavers, and a few young leaders, were amazed at some of the magic tricks that the magician preformed. We would like to say a big well done to Jasmin who volunteered to be the magician’s assistant for one of the tricks. The party was concluded with a bit more dancing, which included the conga and the hokey cokey. All of the kids left looking exhausted but happy.
