District Beaver Hike

Well done to Alfie, Harry, Max, Verney, Joshua and Ethan, who took part in a sponsored 5 mile hike, the sun was shining, what more could we wish for.

We met at 11th broadstairs scout hut and eventually everyone found it after a while of searching. A few photos were taken with the hospice mascot and then it was time to set off. We had only been on the move for 45 minutes and then the first voiced called out “Is it nearly time for lunch I’m soo hungry”. We then reached a farmer’s field so had to travel off-road, a big well done to rusty for pushing Josh’s wheel chair across the field. The hike carried on down behind the lighthouse and along the coast to Broadstairs, still with a chorus of calls for lunch in the background.

‘Yay’ finally the bandstand was in sight. Lunch time now! Much to the relief of all the children, and some of the adults too. After everyone was refuelled and rested it was time to set off again, following the route along the coast through King George VI park.

Much to the shock of everyone we were ahead of time which is definitely a rarity in scouting. After dodging all the dog mess we eventually finished outside the Granville theatre.

Lastly a big well done to the parents who also completed the hike!
