District Fishing Competition

A huge Thank You to Adam (Cubs) and Ty-Lea (Scouts) for being the only two mad enough (as well as Radar & Gadget) to turn out for this mornings District Fishing Competition at Deal Pier.

On arrival the wind was blowing and the rain was falling. District cut the competition short and finished it at 11 o’clock as the wind blew stronger and the rain fell heavier. The fishing was about as good as the weather with only 4 fish caught in the whole competition, our count was the same as last year, nothing.

As Radar & Gadget are slightly madder than the average Leader they decided to stay until the original finish time of 12 o’clock. As they looked around just after 11 they were the only two left on the pier! Staying the extra hour made no difference what so ever, Gadget lost 3 large ones although we think these may have been shopping trolleys or something just as heavy as he seem to get snagged on something every cast. Radar did finish the morning catching and managed to land 3 crabs just before packing up.

Once again thank you Adam and Ty-Lea, may be we will have better luck and weather next year.
