Gilwell Funday 2014

After a smooth journey with some questionable singing skills we arrived to sunshine at Gilwell. Once we had set up our site the Beavers went off with their leaders whilst the cubs were free to go off and explore in small groups. There was loads to do including archery, climbing, go karting and fairground rides. The waltzer proved popular although some looked a little green as they got off.

The beavers had fun on the grass sledges and also attempted to hit Squirrel with their water rockets as  well as having fun on a lot of other things like the archery and zip wire.

Many of the children had their faces painted or visited other areas on site. A lot of ice cream and doughnuts were eaten as well as fizzy drinks.

The journey home was quieter apart from the usual travel sickness and nose bleeds, thanks to Sasha and Brown Beaver for their assistance!!

As usual the children made the most of their day and had a go at everything making  it a fun and exhausting day! Many will be making a return trip for Cubjam ( a week long cub jamboree) in 2016 – details to follow in September.
