Cubs – District Hike

The Cubs and Leaders set out on a chilly and foggy morning from Garlinge Scout Hut on a 10 mile hike along with around 90 other Cubs and Leaders from the Thanet area. We hiked around the local area visiting various Scout huts including 4th Broadstairs, 11th Broadstairs and Holy Trinity. We also found out about local places of interest including Drapers Mill, Crampton Tower, Dickens House, the War Memorial, Bleak House and St Peters Church and Graveyard where we saw the grave of the Thanet Giant.

The Cubs all did remarkably well and were as usual a credit to the group. They have all earned their local knowledge badge, a hikes away and also ticked off many areas of other badges. Well done to Niamh, James (who wore his legs away completely!), Ryan, Alfie, Jorge, Adam and Charlie. Special congratulations to Morgan, Alexia and Becky who are about to join us from Beavers and to Alexandra and Daniella who all did fantastically well to complete the distance.
