District Cross Country 2013

A huge, huge, huge well done to all of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders and Leader (yes a Leader) that took part in todays District Cross Country Event.

Each section has a number of races depending on age. The Beavers and Scouts have two whilst the Cubs have three. There are individual awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each race along with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the overall team result across the section.

Unfortunately due to a sleepover we only had four Beavers make the event so they didn’t stand much chance in the team race but still Lucy, Darcy, Daniella and Alexandra all put in a brilliant effort and finished 9th out of 14 teams so a massive well done to all of you.

Well done to Ned who took 1st Place in the Cubs 10 year olds race and along with Ben, Rebecca, Morgan, James, Oliver, Nathaniel, Alexia, Alfie, Edward, Elliott, Ryan, Adam, Brandon, Niamh, Fergus and Chloie took 2nd place in the overall team competition. They were only one point behind the team in 1st place.

A massive whoop whoop to our Scouts who all ran their hearts out and despite having no individual placings came away with 1st place in the overall team competition. Well done George, Stephen, Shaun, Geena, Olivia, Randall, Aidan and Cameron another brilliant effort. Only three points separated the first three places.

Some of our Young Leaders took part for their Explorer Units. Well done Tim, Ryan, Tom, Charlotte and Stephen who’s Broadstairs Vikings Explorer Unit took 1st place in their section.

In between a couple of the section races there is a Leaders race. This year Rusty decided he would take part for 14th Broadstairs and came a brilliant 5th place (we salute you).
